Story by Raven, Photos – Joseph Boyle
If you got a chance to read my previous story titled Raven Gets Jump On Life, you will already know what I am up to.
I am very excited to give up some of my writing space for a young author whose first name is Raven. Raven is only 11 years old. Raven is a great name for an author, don’t you agree? Here I am a writer stuck with the name Joe, J O E. The E is silent. I wish I had a cool writer’s name like Raven. OK, check out his article below.
Title: Pogo Stick
Author: Raven (Age 11 / 6th grade)
I think pogo sticking is really fun because I can jump really high.
On the first day, I tried pogo sticking I could only bounce one or two times, but then the next day I could do about sixteen. On about the fifth day, I could do 2500 jumps on the pogo stick!
I learned that if your legs are hurting all you have to do is use your arm power but when your arms start hurting you have to clamp your legs to the pogo stick and turn your arm after you let go of the pogo stick.
Today I will have an interview with one of my dad’s friends and, if I am good, I might be in the newspaper.
I wish you will have as much fun as I do with POGO STICKING!

Raven, you did a nice job. I would like to see you learn as much as you can in your English courses in school so you can develop your writing skills. When you write your 1st book, I would like your autograph.
I know you started your article with the word “I”. It must have fallen off the page when the Publisher & I typed & posted your work. Not your fault.

Raven, I am so proud of you! First you accept the challenge to meet with Joe Boyle. And then you do your pogo sticking, so amazing, I might add. Do you stop there? Not at all, you go on and write a story and have it published in The Suburban Times. Mercy me, I am so inspired. What a cool dad you have to open doors of opportunity for you. Now, I’m hoping Joe Boyle will invite me over to try out his childhood pogo stick. In my childhood I also borrowed my neighbors pogo stick and I amazed myself that I could actually make it work. Thank you for bringing back such a fond memory.
Wishing the best for you always,

Great stories from Joe and his new and talented friend, Raven. Raven, it sounds like you are persistent and good at setting goals for yourself. Keep on this track, and you’re sure to succeed at whatever you set your mind on doing! Congratulations on getting your story published!
