On October 7, 9, and 11 the Tacoma Area Literacy Council will conduct its annual fall Tutor Training in University Place. We train volunteers to work one-on-one with ADULTS who want to improve their reading, writing and English speaking skills. For nearly 45 years we have helped thousands of people improve their lives, at no cost. Our adult students only pay for their books.
In Pierce County, 24% of the adult population is functionally illiterate. In today’s high-tech environment, we think that is unacceptable. Help us improve the lives of individuals, our neighborhoods and communities. Be part of the solution. Check out our website at www.tacomaliteracy.org or call 253.272.2471 to learn more.
Our students and tutors are dedicated to improving individual lives and circumstances for their children.
