LAKEWOOD – Saudia James-Heard participated in the AAU National Track and Field Championships in Orlando, Fla. last week. Heard, a 12-year-old 400m sprinter and long jumper ran an impressive 400m race in 57:81 seconds, good for 3rd, amongst 80+ of the nation’s fastest 13-14 yr. old athletes. She also scored a bronze medal in the long jump, with a jump of 16’6”.
Next up: Saudia will head to the USA Track and Field Jr. Olympics in Greensboro, NC. Saudia will then represent Washington State as a 3rd year member of the Northwest track and field team in Hershey, PA. GO SAUDIA!
