University Place Festival set for Saturday, Aug. 3

July 23, 2013 By The Suburban Times

By Barbara Lee

Another year has come and gone and it’s time to celebrate the 18th birthday of the City of UP. Come join in the festivities at Cirque Park starting at 10 AM and ending with the movie “Babe”. There will be lots of food at the food court, craft  and commercial vendors as well as live Blues music from noon to 7:30 PM. Like watermelon? Sign up for the watermelon eating contest. Like baseball?

Be sure to watch the Fire and Police team up against JBLM’s 16th Cab for an action packed game of baseball. Join the drum circle, spray the fire hose, and climb aboard Army helicopters.  And for those who like skateboarding join the Cirque Slam from 11-3 PM. Finish the day with the family fun movie “Babe” starting at dusk. The festival, parking, music and most activities are free. Come join our mascot “UP” for a fun filled family festival kind of day.
