Steilacoom: Fresh Finds At The Market + Thank You Laura

July 23, 2013 By The Suburban Times

By Annie Lane

The Steilacoom Farmers’ Market is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24 (3-7 pm), and every Wednesday through August 28 and is located on the corner of Lafayette and Wilkes Streets. This weeks market is notable as it will be Market Coordinator Laura Johnson’s last day. Thank you for your years of dedication and for fostering a sense of community and a spirit of cooperative involvement. You are a shining example and pretty, big shoes to fill.

Two different types of bakeries join us ~ one new, Sallee’s Sweets for the human palate and a returning one ~ Organic Dog Treat Bakery. Pick up your favorite starts from Rob Resseau’s YMCA booth, while you beautify your environment; know you are supporting the “Y” of Pierce County Center for Community Impact.

On that same vein, our Community Corner features The Master Gardeners with “Shelly” to advise and educate us on gardening and horticulture. Bring them your sick and unnamed.

Our 2013 Concert Series presents David Correa & Cascade (Latin Guitar) at the Bandstand in Pioneer Park at 6:30.
