Lakewood Playhouse presents ARSENIC & OLD LACE

The Lakewood Playhouse is proud to present FIRST SHOW of our 75th ANNIVERSARY SEASON of PLAYS – Joseph Kesserling’s Wonderful Black Comedy with a Little “Extra Kick” “ARSENIC & OLD LACE.”  The Play will be performed on Fridays, Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm.  Performances will be September 13th  – October 13th, with Special Showings at 8:00pm on Thursday,September 19th (Pay What You Can Night) and 8:00pm on Thursday, September 26th (“Pay What You Can” Actor’s   Benefit). Our Ticket Prices are $25.00 (General Admission), $22.00 (Military), $21.00 (Seniors) and $19.00 (Students/Educators).

We are proud to announce that this show mark our first presentation with our Auditorium filled to the brim with BRAND NEW CHAIRS!  They are built for comfort and include lower back support as well as cup holders for your soft drinks and popcorn.  Further enhancing our theatrical experience!  Presented with views from all sides, in the Lakewood Playhouse’s unique “in the round” seating, this production of “ARSENIC & OLD LACE” will help you feel like as if you are “inside” the show!

Featuring actors both new, and returning, to the Lakewood Playhouse, we are proud to present this brilliantly macabre “giggler” promises chills served right alongside its dark comedy. ARSENIC & OLD LACE will feature the acting talents of: JACOB TICE as Mortimer (Twelfth Night, The Rainmaker, Play It Again, Sam, The Farnsworth Invention and The Rainmaker), CHRIS CANTRELL as Jonathan (The Farnsworth Invention and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to the Forum), TONY ONARATI as Einstein (The Importance of Being Earnest),  JEFFERY WEAVER as Teddy (Oliver!, The Farnsworth Invention, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to the Forum), MARK PETERSON as Officer O’Hara (The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), STEVE TARRY as Detective Rooney (Oliver!, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sherlock’s Last Case and Twelfth Night), ERNIE HELLER as Dr. Witherspoon (The Farnsworth Invention and The Rainmaker), MICHAEL SANDNER as Rev. Harper (The Importance of Being Earnest) and introducing LINDA SAILOR-BRIGHT as Aunt Abby, REBECCA McCARTHYas Aunt Martha, PATRICK GERRELLS as Mr. Gibbs, KERRY BRINGMAN as Officer Brophy and KENNTH LOTH as Officer Klein.

This show will also feature the return to the Lakewood Playhouse of Director DALE WESTGAARD whose last directorial effort at our theatre was in 1971!!

ABOUT THE SHOW: A drama critic learns on his wedding day that his beloved maiden aunts are homicidal maniacs, and that insanity runs in his family … along with a fondness for arsenic-spiked elderberry wine!  Returning to the Lakewood Playhouse stage for the first time since 1997!

Parental Advisory: This production features the comedic portrayal of murder, poisoning and threatened physical violence.  Parental Guidance is suggested.
