Students from Firwood Secondary School and Oak Grove Elementary School celebrated Independence Day by shooting off rockets during the schools’ “Blast Off” event July 3.
“This event provides a great opportunity for the students to celebrate the Fourth of July,” said Robin McIlvaine with the Child Study and Treatment Center. “It’s a great way for them to socialize with other students and take pride in successfully making a rocket.”
Teachers, counselors, doctors, nurses and others attended the event. The schools hold a number of events throughout the year. Oak Grove and Firwood are part of the Clover Park School District’s Transitional Day Program.
