Saudia, the future Olympic track star from Lakewood set the 200m record at the Hershey’s’ State track meet. She’s begun her 2013 track season with blazing success. On Saturday, June 29 with a time 25:05(sec) Saudia shattered the Hershey’s Washington State record in the girls (13-14yr) 200m which was previously set by Terri Martin of Vancouver, WA in 2008 with a record time of 25:30(sec).
She is now celebrating her 2nd record breaking success in this prestigious state meet. First was the 400m at 101:06(sec) in 2012 and now the 200m 2013. Heard is also enjoying two 1st place wins in the 400m at the Hershey’s National Meet.
Presently Saudia is training for the USATF Northwest Championship Track Meet (July 4-7, 2013,Seattle,Wa) , AAU Club Championships, sponsored by Walt Disney, and ESPN ( July 10-13, Orlando, FL), and Hershey’s’ National Track Meet ( Aug 1-5, Hershey, PA.). Saudia is a member of the infamous Flying AJ’s Elite Track Club coached by Nate Wilford.
Saudia graduated 7th Grade this year with a 4.0 GPA, and is an active member of Hudtloff Middle School National Honor Society. She was awarded the Presidential Physical Fitness Award that recognizes physical achievement and exceptional dedication to the ideal of a sound mind in a strong body. This award certificate was signed by President Barack Obama and accompanied with a Presidential Patch. Heard was also earned a 1st place medal as top female miler for her school! Saudia participated on the Hudtloff Middle Schools’ varsity track team which had a very successful 2013 track season.
