LAKEWOOD – Olympic Moving and Storage is the first business to open in Lakewood’s new Woodbrook Business and Industrial Park. With a 45,000 square-foot warehouse facility, Olympic’s new location accommodates the company’s growth, business needs and allows the company to better serve its customer base.
Adjacent to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and near I-5, the Woodbrook Business and Industrial Park location provides Olympic with close proximity to its most important business segment as a military contractor. “Our new location allows us to be nearer to the military community,” said Jill Ihly, vice president of Olympic Moving and Storage. “We are proud to serve military members by helping to facilitate their moving and storage needs and coordinating on their behalf if deployed.”
The Woodbrook Business and Industrial Park borders JBLM to the south, Woodbrook Drive on its east boundary, Woodbrook Middle School on its western perimeter and a residential area and JBLM on its north edge.
Ihly is the third generation in her family to work in the moving industry, following her grandparents and parents into the family business. The business opened in 1994 out of the family’s Olympia home, and Olympic Moving and Storage has since grown to four locations in Olympia, Federal Way, Bremerton and Lakewood with additional plans for expansion.
“It is exciting that Olympic Moving and Storage is the first business to open in the Woodbrook Business and Industrial Park,” noted Ellie Chambers-Grady, economic development manager for the City of Lakewood. “Over 150 acres of land are zoned as Industrial Business Park (IBP) and the parcels are ready for redevelopment. Olympic is pioneering the way for expected growth in the area.”
