Ford Food Truck Challenge kicks off in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD – More than a dozen Puget-Sound area Ford businesses are joining the popular local food truck movement by hosting innovative events that will have local food trucks compete in a head-to-head taste test while Ford vehicles challenge their rivals through competitive test drives.

The Ford Food Truck Challenge tour wraps up in Portland this week and will head into Seattle next week, providing fans a unique opportunity to eat, drive and vote at local Ford dealerships and popular summer festivals.  Participants are encouraged to take the Ford Food Truck Challenge by taste-testing food from thefood trucks, test-driving Ford vehicles against the competition, and submitting their vote for BEST BITE and BEST RIDE.  The winning food truck receives a cash grand prize, and participants are entered to win daily giveaways.

BEST BITE

Here’s a list of the event locations and the competing local food trucks.  All are scheduled to take place 4-7 p.m.

June 17:  Lakewood Ford (Lakewood) – People’s Burger vs. Jemil’s Big Easy

June 18:  Korum Ford Lincoln (Puyallup) – Milkman’s Daughter vs. Secret Sausage

June 20:  Evergreen Ford (Issaquah) – My Chef Lynn vs. Monte Cristo

June 21:  Sound Ford (Renton) – Lumpia World vs. Box Nature Sushi

June 24:  Ford and Lincoln of Bellevue (Bellevue) – Los Chilangos vs. Raney Bros BBQ

June 26:  Bowen Scarff Ford-Lincoln (Kent) – Six Strawberries vs. Caravan Crepes

June 27:  Scarff Ford (Auburn) – Now Make Me A Sandwich vs. Secret Sausage

July 2:  Bickford Motors (Snohomish) – My Chef Lynn vs. Sound Bite

July 3:  Titus-Will Ford (Tacoma) – Crisp Creperie vs. Waffle Wagon

July 8:  All Star Ford (Olympia) – Pinky’s Kitchen vs. Taco El Guero

July 9:  Ford of Kirkland (Kirkland) – Sweet Wheels vs. Crisp Creperie

July 11:  Bill Pierre Ford (Lake City, Seattle) – Papa Bois vs. Tuscan Stone Pizza

July 12:  Harris Ford (Lynnwood) – Happy Grillmore vs. Streetzeria

Participants can vote online for their favorite local food truck at the Ford Food Truck Challenge website, which also provides more information about the tour, including the schedule: www.fordfoodtruckchallenge.com.

 

BEST RIDE

Event participants will get the opportunity to test-drive Ford vehicles and their competitors and then vote for the Best Ride.  Among the Ford vehicles and their competitors:

Ford Fusion vs. Toyota Camry

Ford Fusion Hybrid vs Toyota Camry Hybrid

Ford Escape vs Subaru Forester

Ford C-MAX vs Toyota Prius V
