“The Boys & Girls Clubs isn’t a stand-alone organization,” said Elvin Bucu, the three-month director of the Lakewood Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. “We can’t fully serve our kids alone. No one group can.”
Elvin’s getting settled in, learning the names of the more than 200 kids who walk through the club’s doors each day and is now meeting folks from the community. Thursday night, Elvin was at the Ram to meet a group of service club members.
“His spirit is genuine, and authentic,” said Aki Wright, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound board member. Both Wright and Bucu encourage anyone interested to swing by the Lakewood Branch (10402 Kline Street SW Lakewood WA, 98499) to see the exciting things they have going on.
