Simpson/Rainier Connect Chamber Golf Classic Tournament Set to Tee-Off May 30

May 27, 2013 By Ben Sclair

By Mimi Jansen

TACOMA, Wash. – The Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber will welcome close to 140 golfers on Thursday, May 30, to the Tacoma Country & Golf Club, 13204 Country Club Drive SW, Lakewood, Wash. 98498, for a day of fun and spirited competition at the Simpson/Rainier Connect Chamber Golf Classic Tournament.

The Simpson/Rainier Connect Chamber Golf Classic is considered the best social event of the year and it would not be possible without all of the sponsors and their willingness to not only financially contribute to the Chamber, but also participate at a level that makes this event so successful. Special thanks to Co-Presenting Sponsors Simpson and Rainier Connect, Eagle Box Lunch Sponsor Brown & Brown of WA, Umbrella Sponsor Heritage Bank, Golf Cart Sponsor Franciscan Health System Occupational Health/Port Clinic and Tournament of Champions Award Banquet Sponsor Larson Automotive Group for their most generous commitment to the tournament. Visit the Chamber’s website, www.tacomachamber.org for more information on all the wonderful sponsors.

The Chamber’s Golf Classic, this year themed “Margaritaville,” is packed with a field of great hole sponsors competing for “Best Hole” honors by providing such enticements and entertainment as a tiki bar, seated massages, rum cocktails, champagne, gourmet appetizers, an ice cream truck, Harmon brew and a ton of prizes and games.

The lucky winning foursome will receive a Grand Prize donated by Hotel Murano – a Four-Star Overnight Package that includes a Chef’s Table for four couples. The winning foursome and one guest each will be treated to a five course meal and wine pairing, with selections prepared by Executive Chef Matt Stickle, and overnight accommodation in a Hotel Murano Deluxe guest room and valet parking, among other goodies.

This year’s golf raffle, sponsored by Chambers Bay, is open to the public, with big prizes grouped into seven unique themes.  These include; Gallivanting Gourmet (food & drink experiences), A Family Affair (fun and adventure for the family), Romance (date night ideas) and Home & Garden (items to make your home and garden the best it can be).  Chamber members, (local businesses), donate to these baskets to promote their products, services and brands.  Visit the Chamber’s website, www.tacomachamber.org for information on buying raffle tickets, at $4/each or $20 for a book, and to view the prize packages.
