Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars, a three-year old non-profit organization, partnered with individual donors, business partners, and the employees of Cobalt Mortgage in the creation of scholarships to help students pursue their post-secondary education goals. This August, over $115,000 in scholarship funds will be distributed to 80 deserving students in the states of Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Utah, and Oklahoma. That’s more than a two-fold increase over 2012 awards.
Individual donors and business partners contributed nearly $45,000, which was matched dollar-for-dollar by Cobalt Mortgage. The remainder of the funds came from employee donations and company contributions. The purpose of the company’s non-profit initiative is to make a positive impact on the youth and their families in the communities they serve.
“Once again, our partners have stepped up to show that helping kids succeed through higher education is a real priority,” said Keith Tibbles, President and Co-founder of Cobalt Mortgage. “It’s our privilege to support a program that directly benefits our communities in such a positive way.”
Nationally, Cobalt Mortgage Dollars for Scholars and private donors have teamed up to award almost $180,000 in scholarships to students since the program’s founding in 2010.
