UNIVERSITY PLACE – Best-selling local author Jim Lynch will speak and sign books during a free event at University Place Pierce County Library, 3609 Market Place W., on Tuesday, May 21, at 7 p.m.
Lynch will talk about his new book, “Truth Like the Sun,” set in Seattle during the 1962 World’s Fair. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Friends of the University Place Library sponsor this free event.
The best-selling and award-winning author has written three acclaimed novels set in the Northwest. “The Highest Tide” won the 2006 Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award and was an international best-seller. “Border Songs” won the 2010 Washington State Book Award for fiction. The New York Times listed “Truth Like the Sun” in Janet Maslin’s 10 Favorite Books of 2012, and has called Lynch “a gifted and original novelist.”
Lynch lives in Olympia, Wash., with his wife and daughter.
