Have you been following the preparations to launch the Delta IV Heavy rocket next week? It is thought that this rocket, (originally designed by Boeing to meet the needs of the U.S. military) might be able to propel humans into a low orbit of the Earth.
Christopher Hoffman will speak of the future of human space travel from the perspective of an engineer in the field of advanced applied physics. As a young college student, Hoffman traveled to Russia to tour its space facilities. He went on to earn degrees in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Washington, and has worked for Boeing for the past 17 years.
