The City of Lakewood is looking for a Lakewood resident to represent us on the Conservation Futures Citizens’ Advisory Board. This Board reviews and rates project proposals and provides recommendations to the PierceCounty council. The position is a four year term and is appointed by Mayor. Typically the Board meets during the months of May – September so reply by May 15. Conservation Futures is a land preservation program for the protection of threatened areas of open space, timber lands, wetlands, habitat areas and agricultural and farm lands within the boundaries of Pierce County. Conservation Futures funds are used to acquire the land or the development rights of the land. Conservation Futures is administered by the Pierce County government. Funding for this program is from a state authorized / county property tax. Please let us know if you are interested in representing Lakewood on this Board.
