The Steilacoom Historical School District Board of Directors will act on appointing Ms. Kathi Weight to serve as Interim Superintendent for the 2013-14 school year at their May 8, 2013 meeting.

Ms. Weight has served for the last three years as Executive Director for Student Achievement and Human Resources for the Steilacoom Historical District. Previously, she served as a principal in North Thurston Public Schools and has also been an elementary and middle school teacher.

She possesses a Bachelor’s Degree from Washington State University, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from City University and earned Administrative Credentials at Seattle Pacific University.

“Kathi Weight already knows the school district, has done quality work in service to our employees, students, and community, and the school district knows her. We are pleased that she is willing to step up as Interim Superintendent.” states Sam Scott, Chair of the Steilacoom Board of Directors.
“I am committed to our school district and am excited to continue in a new role to serve Steilacoom students, staff, and community” says Kathi Weight. Upon approval by the Board, Ms. Weight’s contract will begin on July 1, 2013. She will work closely with the district staff and community to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
