Louise Meininger passed away on the 26th of April 2013. She was a retired Regional Personnel Director of Rhodes and Liberty House.
Survived by loving sons, Ron and Chuck, daughter-in-law, Kathy and grandsons, Eric and Bryan.

Stuart Wright Henderson was born March 13, 1959 and passed away May 2, 2013. He was the second child born to Justus and Gladys Henderson. Stuart attended Shoreline Community College where he earned an Associates of Arts degree and went on to have a career as a musician and later a drafter, with Swenson Saye Faget
Stuart resided in Tacoma and was a member of Tacoma Bible Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed building models, Frisbee golf, camping, boats, music, video games and loved trying to cook.
He is survived by his three awesome children, Rachel, Ian and Erin, as well as special friends, Andy Burnett, Suzan Douglass, Kristin Henderson, Chuckie, and Joey the cat.
Stuart will be remembered by all for “Never faking it”.

Betty M. Johnson
Mom went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2013 at the age of 84.
Betty was born in Sacramento, CA and lived in Tacoma, Vashon, Nisqually and Lakewood. She graduated from Stadium High School and retired as a secretary from Boeing. She also worked for St. Mary’s Church, Catholic Community Services, Paulson’s, H & R Block and the Flitter Inn Restaurant when it was owned by her mother Mary Ethel Flitter. Mom loved children and volunteered at Tyee Park Elementary School. She also provided childcare for a number of families.
Mom loved gardening, playing cards, golfing and dancing.
Betty is survived by her daughter Gayle West (David) and sons Greg Hall and Brian Hall, as well as five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
The funeral and viewing will be in the Garden Chapel, graveside services and Celebration of Life Center. Reception to follow in the Oak room.

Maj. Ronald Albert Smith US Army Ret.
Born in Bell CA. January 26, 1939 and died April 20, 2013 of Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma attributed to Agent Orange. He moved to Washington as a child, moved to Washington DC, then back to Washington State and lived in Outlook, Sunnyside, and Wapato where he graduated from High School and met his wife, Vertie Cleavenger. They were married in 1959 the same year Ron joined the US Army. He retired from the US Army after 20 years of service which included a tour in Germany, 2 in Vietnam and final tour in Korea. He was stationed at several posts stateside. He received many ribbons and awards while in the army that includes a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and many more. After retirement he opened Ron’s Auto Body Restoration for 10 years, worked at Vertie’s Avanti Travel four years and then became Co-owner of Tacoma V-Twin.
Over the years he belonged and held offices in several clubs including Lakewood Eagles, Life Member of the VFW, Clover Park Kiwanis, and Past President of the Tacoma Area Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club. Ron restored many Studebakers which received several 1st place and Best of Show awards. Ron was also a member of BBB (Big Bad Bravo Company 4/21st) group of Vietnam retirees. Ron loved his family and had many friends.
He was preceded by his parents Virgil and LaVaughn Smith. He is survived by his wife Vertie of 54 years, Sons: Steve (Brenda), Ernie (Heidi), and Daughter: Ronette (Craig) Lodgard, ten grandchildren: Christopher (Cathy) Smith, Shane (Jessica) Oneill, Emma, Colton, Annalisa, Grace, Jacob, and Olivia Lodgard, Collin and Neal Burton and several children he considered grandchildren. In addition, Ron is survived by a brother Jimmie Smith, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his cat Max and many close friends he considered family, these people know who they are. He will be missed by all.
A celebration of his life will be held at the AMVETS Hall on May 19th at 6 pm, located at 5717 S. Tyler St. A Military Service will be held at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA. Many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and other staff at Madigan Hospital for the respect and excellent care they provided.

Ronald E. Tree
Born 3-28-1933 Called home to the Lord 5-2-2013
Born in Schenectady, NY, Ron traveled the world with the USAF from 1950-1972, when he retired from active duty and made his home in Lakewood, WA. Ron was a husband, father, teacher, educator, counselor, businessman and friend who will be missed by all who came to know him. He had an avid love of the outdoors and excelled at all of his endeavors, sharing his passion with those around him.
Ron was inducted into the Washington Skeet Shooting Association (WSSA) Hall of Fame Nov. ’85, and again inducted into the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) Zone 7 Hall of Fame Aug. 11, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Tree, two sons, Kenneth and Pam, of Madison, MS; Kevin, of Ocala, FL; and two granddaughters, Jessica Lynn and fiancé Austin Chance of Starkville, MS, and Shelby Morgan of Tacoma, WA.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the Aspen Chapel, Mountain View Celebration of Life Center. Inurnment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Franciscan Hospice of University Place, or to the American Cancer Society.

Gladys Walton, 88, of Lakewood, WA, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Gladys graduated with a diploma in Nursing from the Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee, WA. She married her husband Frank in 1947 and after a mobile military life settled in Lakewood in 1966.
She is survived by two children, Christine (Philip) Yavorsky of O’Fallon, IL, and Jim (DawnLee) Walton of Honolulu, HI; and three grandchildren, Debbie (Kevin) Joseph, Susie (John) Lucas and Cathy Yavorsky; and two step-grandchildren, Ashley (David) Cox and Michael DeYoung.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Lakewood, WA.

Inge Koden was born August 10, 1925 in Frankfurt, Germany and passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013. She is survived by the Koden family who will all miss her. Services will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:15 PM.

Gone But Will Never Be Forgotten – 1926-2013
Thelma will be remembered for her zest for life, her passion for cooking, her adventurous ways and her love of family and friends. Mom was never too busy for someone in need.
She is survived by her children Nancy Smith, Janis Weeks, Jeffery English, William English JR; Brother Arnold Bekken 12 Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great, great-grandchildren.
Thelma was preceded in death by her two sons Karl and Dan.

Bonita “Bonnie” C. Kolaski, 65, passed away April 28, 2013 in Tacoma, WA. She was born to Frank G. and Koressa R. (Thornton) Lund on November 14, 1947 in Portland, OR.
Bonnie did several things during her life, but she was most fond being a foster parent and caring for children who had nowhere else to turn. She will be remembered has having a heart of gold and being an earthly angel who’s arms were always open to care for the young and old.
Bonnie is survived by her son Chris his wife Serene and their son Noah; daughter Koressa and her son Emmit; brother John Lund and step-sister Kathy.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
