Soundcare names Lawson new Messenger House Administrator

May 5, 2013 By Jaynie Jones

By Jaynie Jones

UNIVERSITY PLACE – Lawson steps into this position with a solid background that will serve him and the community well.  He comes to Soundcare (owner-operator of Messenger House) with dual career paths as a Social Worker and as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the past 13 years.

Steve Lawson

Steve Lawson

He and his wife have moved recently to Bremerton from Aberdeen where he was the Administrator of Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past several years. They are both native North Dakotans, but are enjoying life and the mountainous scenery in the Northwest.  He has also been an active member of the Aberdeen Lions Club for the past ten years and currently serving as Director.

Lawson is an outgoing, warm, and personable individual with a genuine passion for seniors.  Interestingly, he is an avid history buff and is fascinated by the rich history of Messenger House.

Historically, the health care facility has been serving the needs of residents of Bainbridge Island, Seattle, Kingston, Poulsbo, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Port Townsend and Port Angeles for nearly 50 years and is perhaps best known for its secure memory care unit.  Today it offers excellent skilled nursing, respite care, rehab services, and even hospice care.

Farther back in time, all the way back to 1918, Bainbridge Island’s first private school, the Moran School, named for its founder Frank Moran was located on the property nearby.  The expansion of the school on a 40-acre piece of land included dormitories, a theater, library, and science laboratories.  There is a lot of history to learn about and explore on Bainbridge Island.

To learn more about Messenger House visit messengerhousecare.com or call 206.842.2654. Tours are welcome daily.  It is a located in a serene, wooded setting with a spectacular view of downtown Seattle directly across the Sound.  The ferry terminal is nearby, as well.

Soundcare, Inc. is a local corporation with corporate headquarters in University Place and is the owner-operator of four senior living communities in the South Sound.  soundcareinc.com
