Five Lakes High School wrestlers qualified for the Washington state national team this weekend. The wrestlers qualified for the team during the Washington State Freestyle & Greco Championships last weekend at the Tacoma Dome. Anesia Ramirez, Arianna Gonzalez-Goff, Kiaya Van Scoyoc and Andrew Ramirez qualified in the Freestyle category. Kevionne Robbins qualified in the Greco category. Tino Nieves medaled but didn’t qualify for the national team.
“These athletes worked extremely hard to achieve this honor,” said Scott Nordi, Lakes Athletic Director. “Their hours of work and dedication have paid off. I’m extremely proud of what they have accomplished.”
The wrestlers are eligible to compete at nationals in Fargo, ND this summer. The athletes will wrestle both Freestyle and Greco styles in the national competition.
