Puttin’ on the Glitz was the theme of this year’s DuPont Historical Society Cherry Blossom Tea and Vintage Fashion show which took place Saturday afternoon at Chloe Clark School. Guests were seated at theme decorated tables and served tea sandwiches and desserts prepared by Chef Notty McIlhenny.
The Tacoma Goodwill Golden Oldies Guild models “strutted their stuff” in vintage gowns showcasing 80 years of fashion trends. Fashion standouts included a 1940s Oleg Cassini cocktail suit, a pink sequined flapper dress and a knockout designer 1970 hostess dress. The vintage style show was accompanied by period piano music and a lively commentary by Adrianne Chandler. The fashions are part of the Goodwill collection, which have been rescued and restored by fashion savvy Goodwill staff and volunteers.
