Mary Kim Kelley (Hyun Wun Chul) Of Lakewood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

Mary KelleyShe was born May 28, 1933 in Chung-Do, Korea. She married Stephen Kelley on 1 August 1958 in South Korea. Mary was a longtime resident of Lakewood, and an active member in the 1st Baptist Church in Tacoma and in the Korean community. Her journey as a soldier’s wife took her to Formosa, Germany, and throughout the United States. Together, for a short time, they worked the family farm in Shoshone, Idaho. She lovingly raised her family, and enjoyed spending time with them. Mary was renowned for her cooking, and she turned Christmas, Thanksgiving, and ordinary meals into feasts. She added love and hugs to every dish.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and daughter Susie Jean. Mary is survived by Stephen, husband of 54 years, sister Am Chon Benson, sons Olen (Nancy) Kelley and Russell (Christine) Kelley, grandchildren Luke (Samantha), Shanda (Kelsey) Luce, Sean, and Breana, and great-grandchildren Kash, Charlotte, and Camila.

Mary Kim was loved by many friends and relatives. She touched everyone with her strength and loving support. A memorial service and funeral will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on April 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
