The comment period for the proposed federal listing of prairie species (Taylor’s checkerspot, streaked horned lark, Mazama pocket gopher) has reopened. Providing the US Fish and Wildlife Service with your individual comments is very important. Comments do not have to be lengthy, just a couple of paragraphs.
You could indicate whether you support the proposed listings and comment on items such as the adequacy of current, non-federal protection actions or maintaining the flexibility for a range of recovery actions, including conservation of working lands, mitigation for development. Please remember you are a knowledgeable member of the public concerning these species. Your perspective and input would be positive.
You must submit your comments by May 3rd. To submit electronically. That link can also provide you with more specific info on the proposed listing and other documents.
