Warrior Transition Battalion welcomes new commander

April 18, 2013 By Ben Sclair

MADIGAN ARMY MEDICAL CENTER – After commanding the Warrior Transition Battalion for nearly two years, Lt. Col. Jason Wing will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Jeffery Mosso during a change of command ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at Watkins Field on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Wing will continue his Reserve service here at Madigan and will continue to reside in Tacoma.

Mosso, a native of Oregon and a medical service corps officer, is currently the chief of future operations for Western Regional Medical Command. As the commander of the WTB, Mosso will be charged with overseeing the successful healing and transition of hundreds of ill, injured and wounded Soldiers as they return back to their regular duty in the Army or become successful civilian veterans.

“It is an absolute honor and a distinct privilege to be afforded the opportunity to serve alongside the heroes in the Warrior Transition Battalion. I credit the many successes of this organization to Lt. Col. Wing and his outstanding team and only hope that I can continue to cultivate those same successes during the next two years. I personally feel there is no greater professional satisfaction than being in a position that allows for the opportunity to take care of Soldiers and families. By assuming command of this outstanding organization, I fully intend to do just that,” said Mosso.
