Obituary Notices

April 14, 2013 By Ben Sclair

Camille DenneyCamille Denney left us on April 3rd, 2013. She is survived by her son Roderick F. Denney and her daughter Yvette M. Patrick and only grand child, Amber Holloway-Cook. Also survived by her brothers, Ed Christian, Bill Christian and sister, Mary Foy as well as her son in law Mike Patrick and daughter in law Jemimah May Denney. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1959 and 5 years later married her husband, Roderick C. Denney.

A marriage lasting 48 years. She attended secretarial school and retired from the State of Alaska DVR and then continued to donate to her church there by working full time. She will be remembered as a most astounding woman who never gave up, a survivor of breast cancer as well as being considered by her siblings as the rock of their family. She enjoyed writing books and gardening. She was acclaimed for her banana cream pies. She sewed her daughter and granddaughter’s dresses. With stoic poise, she battled sickness without complaint. Forever our inspiration, our hearts are broken. We weren’t ready to let you go…until we meet again.

The memorial service will be held at the SDA Church located at 230 S. 94th St. in Tacoma on Sunday, April 14th, 2013, 11:00am.

Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.mountainviewtacoma.com.
