Wally Anderson. Born April 5, 1924 in Tacoma, WA to Ida and Axel Anderson, Wally left us peacefully just shy of his 89th birthday on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013-singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and gearing up for the Mariners’ home opener!

Wallace AndersonWally grew up in the north end of Tacoma, graduating from Stadium HS in 1942.  In September 2012, he attended his 70th high school class reunion.  After high school, Wally enlisted in the Navy during WWII and spent time on the USS Corregidor CVE58.  Wally married Rosemarie Luond on May 16, 1949 in Tacoma, WA.  Wally worked for the US Postal Service, where he retired in 1979.  After retirement they enjoyed living between Washington and Las Vegas, finally calling Gig Harbor home.  He was a lifetime member of the Swedish Order of Valhalla, and has been the only member to have three generations of Presidents.  Wally was an avid fan of all sports-especially the Mariners.  He also enjoyed journaling about his grandchildren’s sporting events and reminiscing about the days gone by.
