As many of my readers know, I like supporting local Lakewood business, if the business truly earns community support with excellent service and appropriate pricing.
Sunday morning I stopped by one of my favorites, Lakewood Hardware and Paint, Inc., founded in 1948.
9020 Lakewood Drive SW
Lakewood, WA 98499
Phone: 253-581-1010.
WEB: www.lakewood.doitbest.com.
Guess what? If you make a point to visit Lakewood Hardware on Friday, September 21, 2012, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, you will get to eat free BBQ. Owner, Donn Tyler, his family and crew, will host this thank you to customers. Yes, his kids, Skip and Tory, who are third generation hardware people, work there too.
I just love it when I can eat on Donn’s nickel.
There will be a number of vendor / suppliers on scene. Visiting with vendor / suppliers can be advantageous if they represent a line of products or tools that you have an interest in. They can answer all of your questions first hand.
I can be very tactical if Donn is paying for my meal. I might show up at 2:00 pm sharp for a late lunch and then return just before 6:00 pm for dinner. That way I get to eat twice, for free. Of course, I will change my clothes, hat and shave off my mustache so Donn does not catch on. Please, don’t tell him.
See you there.

Lakewood Hardware is a great Lakewood icon. The Tyler family has worked hard for years to earn our trust and custom; take a minute to drop by and show your appreciation! Oh, and browse around a bit while you’re there… you never know what treasures (and bargains!) that you may find. “Shop Our Stores!” 🙂

Hey, Joe, how much are you offering not to tell Donn! 😉
And I second Midlander’s comments.

Speaking of Lakewood businesses, please check out Diamond Designs at their new location on 100th St. Always great service from Shawn Luvaas, the owner.
