Story & Photos – Joseph Boyle
Just last week I was ordering a “Joe’s Special” at my favorite Starbucks in the Lakewood Towne Center (6040 Main St SW), when I notice the Starbucks Community Art Wall.
I walked over to get a closer look. Unbelievable! This digital photo display has got to be the best collection I have ever seen. The photographer is Mr. Roy Seiber. Roy’s wife, Julie, beat a tough cancer a while back. Ever since their experience, the Seibers have dedicated themselves to supporting the Susan G. Koman For The Cure fund. Their efforts are focused on fighting breast cancer.
Here’s the deal. If you react like I did, you may find a photo(s) you would like to purchase for your own pleasure or as a gift for someone you care about.
I am purchasing two humming bird photos. I also have my eye on the Mt. Saint Helens photo with the moon shining overhead. The photo has almost a 3-D quality. It is stunning.
There is a large size photo of two eagles I like too.
The two photos I have selected are $25 each including the mat and frame. That is a very attractive price.
Roy is donating his time and materials including matting and framing. So, we are not talking about just the net profit being donated; we are talking about 100% of the money we spend buying art being donated by Roy and Julie to help find a cure for cancer.
If you have questions about the art or their cancer cure program, they can be reached at 253-566-5903.
Hurry. There is not much time left for this Starbucks Art Show.
