Story and photo by Joseph Boyle
I have great news for Westside motorcycle riders. Jeremy and Jessica Ruse have just opened their own motorcycle shop, called Urban Custom Bikes (4711 Pacific Highway East – 253-517-7142) in Fife. They have a partner too. His name is Lorenzo Marr. I do not know him, but I like saying that name, Lorenszo. He must be a good guy since he is in partnership with Jeremy and Jessica.
It is about 13 miles or 18 minutes from the center of my universe to the shop. Where is the center of my universe, you ask? Starbucks in The Lakewood Towne Center. Speaking of Starbucks, the shop is directly across the street from Fife Starbucks.
About 8 years ago I purchased my 2003 100 year anniversary model Road King from the dealership where Jeremy and Jessica worked in Thurston County. They have taken care of my motorcycle parts, accessories and service needs for every one of the 68.000 miles I put on my iron horse.
The Two J’s, (Jeremy and Jessica) have always treated me like a King. If we had any kind of service issue that fell into the gray area, they bent over backwards to solve the problem in my favor.
While the the Two J’s plan to focus on Harley Davidson service, the shop works on all brands. Additionally, they will be working hard to serve your customization wants and needs. They have a sample award winning bike in the shop that they built while at their former dealership. The designer, builder and bike owner now all work at Urban Custom Bikes. The bike I am referring to appeared on the front page layout in the June issue of a magazine called Urban Bagger. No, Urban Custom Cycles does not own this magazine.
Urban Custom Bikes will have an Open House and Bike Show on July 23, 2011 starting at 12:00 pm with food, music, bike show and much more.
Stop down and see the new shop. Tell the Two J’s, the 3rd J (Joe Boyle) sent you.
