Subject to Board approval, Steilacoom Historical School District #1 announces the recommendation for hire of Sara Graves to the position of assistant principal at Steilacoom High School.

Prior to coming to Steilacoom, Sara served as Dean of Students at Keithley Middle School in the Franklin Pierce School District. She administered a building-wide Science Professional Learning Community at Keithley which put into practice peer observations. While working as an assistant principal at Gates High School, also in the Franklin Pierce district, Ms. Graves administered the school’s Career and Technical Education Program (CTE) along with her other duties.
Prior to coming to Franklin Pierce, Ms. Graves served as a Family and Consumer Science teacher in the Auburn School District.
“Sara’s experience with the Response to Intervention model focusing on data-driven decision making addressing student attendance, behavior, and academics will be a great addition to the Steilacoom High School community,” said Steilacoom High School’s Principal Jan McCrimmon.
Sara Graves earned her undergraduate degree from Central Washington University, Ellensburg, with a double major of Family and Consumer Sciences and School Health Education. She also earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from City University, Seattle.
The Superintendent’s recommendation will be brought to the Board for consideration at its Special Meeting on July 21.
