Subject to Board approval, Steilacoom Historical School District #1 announces the recommendation for hire of Mike Miller to the position of assistant principal at Steilacoom High School.
“I am honored to assume one of the two assistant principal roles at Steilacoom High School. When I applied for the job, I knew the school’s reputation for strong academics in the classroom and athletics on the playing field,” said Mike Miller.
Prior to coming to Steilacoom, Mike taught English at Peninsula High School and served as the school’s Dean of Students. Throughout his career teaching at the secondary level, Mr. Miller was involved with student activities as ASB advisor and as an athletic coach. He has coached sports ranging from girls’ golf to boys basketball.
Michael Miller earned his Bachelor of Arts in Literature at the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma. His Professional Teaching Certification, Principal Certification and Masters in Teaching (Curriculum and Instruction) were earned at from City University, Seattle.
“Mike Miller is a proven leader who is very interested in his students’ academic and athletic success. The Steilacoom School District looks forward to his work as assistant principal and athletic director,” said Principal Jan McCrimmon.
The Superintendent’s recommendation will be brought to the Board for consideration at its Special Meeting on July 21.
