Concertgoers in Steilacoom, juggling bags of Market produce, bouquets of fresh-cut flower, and lawn chairs, flocked to Pioneer Orchard Park on Wednesday evening to enjoy the first of the Town’s summer concerts in the park.
Entertained by members of the Fighting 56th Army Band, folks basked in the afterglow of the waterfront setting, with sunlight glinting off shiny brass instruments and the waters of Puget Sound.
As the final note of “American Eagle” echoed over the landscape, a majestic bald eagle soared over head—was that really a coincidence?) Whatever…it provided food for thought as the crowd dispersed.
Steilacoom’s 2011 Concerts in the Park are co-sponsored by the Town of Steilacoom, The Bair Bistro, the Inn at Saltar’s Point, and Sound View Senior Living.
Note: Commemorative 2011 Steilacoom T-shirts are on sale until July 4. Proceeds help pay for the community’s traditional Fireworks Display at the Conclusion of the Independence Day celebration.
