Dillon Gee, a senior baseball player from Lakes High School, is the Tacoma Athletic Commission athlete of the year and played in the All-Star Baseball Tournament in Yakima June 10 and 11, scoring a two-run homer and being named “Player of the Game.”
Gee finished his this season with a .554 batting average—third highest in the state and best in the league. Overall, he had six home runs, 23 runs, 21 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
Gee was named to the South Puget Sound League’s First Team and All-Area Baseball Team. He played short stop for Lakes and was named Most Valuable Player.
Although he doesn’t know where he’ll attend school next year, he knows he wants to play Division I ball. He hopes to walk on at Washington State University. If that doesn’t work out, Gee would like to play at Pierce College before transferring to a Division I school.
