JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – After competing in three-days-worth of testing and evaluation on a wide range of tactical and technical common skill Army subjects, the winners of the I Corps NCO and Soldier of the Year Competition were named. The top non-commissioned officer is Sgt. Haidang H. Le of Company B, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, and the winning Soldier is Specialist Anthony A. Wooley of the 595th Military Police Company, 508th Military Police Battalion, 42nd MP Brigade.
Sgt. Le of San Diego, Calif., and Spc. Wooley of Homestead, Fla., scored high marks performing basic Soldier and combat related tasks during the I Corps NCO and Soldier of the Year Completion while competing against nearly a dozen other JLBM units’ NCOs and Soldiers in their category.
The NCO and Soldier of the Year award will be presented during I Corps’ 236th Army Birthday Ball in Tacoma on June16.
