Without the sports events at Harry E. Lang Stadium to keep us busy, our Kiwanis Club of Clover Park fired up our grill at Lakewood’s Summer Festival on June 25. The weather was sunny and warm and the crowds seemed the best ever. Our famous ¼ pound all-beef hotdog actually sold out. Mark your calendars for next year and join in all the fun.
In the mean time, come visit our club and enjoy a “free” lunch and learn how we give back to our community, supporting various causes but always focusing on the youth. Every Tuesday you may join us at 12:00 at the RAM Restaurant, 10019 59th Ave SW, Lakewood.
The giving back is what we are all about. We direct our passion to the enhancement of children; we help not only that child, but their family and ultimately our community. Join us as we give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream and succeed. Help this volunteer group as we raise funds in support of various local programs.
Please keep in your prayers our military personnel who are away from their friends, family and loved ones and we wish each of them a safe journey.
Drive safely this summer as our children are now on summer break and will be out and about during the day. Also, your Clover Park Kiwanians will be keeping Washington Blvd clean through the Adopt-A-Street program. Members will be visible Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-2:30, July 5, so won’t you give them a brake!
