Designated Escrow Inc. co-owner, Marie Barth, announced her intention to run for the Lakewood City Council position being vacated by long time council member, Claudia Thomas.
“The City of Lakewood is facing vital issues such as jobs, safe parks, better transportation flow and quality housing for people at all income levels. I believe I can be a positive factor in the decisions that the City of Lakewood has to face,” Barth said. “Claudia Thomas leaves big shoes to fill on the Lakewood City Council. An innovative woman, she has represented the city well. I share her deep commitment to community service and creating opportunity for our youth,” Barth added.
“Like many small business owners challenged by the recession, I have had to make many difficult business decisions. Despite these challenges, I remain committed to being a good employer and citizen in Lakewood,” Barth said. Barth believes that her business experiences will be an asset to the Council.
Marie has been married to her husband, Bruce, for forty years. They have a wonderful son and daughter-in-law and three amazing granddaughters. They have been active members of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Lakewood for many years and Bruce has served as Chairman of Lakewood Area Shelter and a member and officer of Clover Park Rotary.
