MADIGAN ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, Tacoma, Wash. – After commanding the Warrior Transition Battalion for nearly two years, Lt. Col. Danny Dudek will relinquish command to Lt. Col. Jason Wing during a change of command ceremony at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins Field on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Dudek will move to Alexandria, Va., to become the plans officer for the Warrior Transition Command’s operations section.
Wing, a native of Steilacoom and a medical service corps officer, is currently the executive assistant to the commanding general of the Western Regional Medical Command. As the commander of the WTB, Wing will be charged with overseeing the successful healing and transitions of hundreds of ill, injured and wounded Soldiers as they return back to their regular duty in the Army or become successful civilian veterans.
“I am honored to serve with members of such a distinct unit with such an important mission. I look forward to the opportunity to continue the great work of the past two command teams and plan to provide compassionate and rational leadership to heal and transition our great Soldiers ‘back into the fight’ with a prosperous future,” said Wing.
