On April 21, 2011, members of various law enforcement agencies and local community members attended the Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner, hosted by the Olympic Mountain Chapter of ASIS International at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Tacoma.
This event honored those in the Law Enforcement community who work tirelessly to protect and serve the citizens of the South Puget Sound and Inlands, and recognized the work of those that have helped make a difference.
Guest Speaker this evening was Sheriff John D. Snaza (Thurston County Sheriff’s Department) and Jeffrey Slotnick served as the Master of Ceremonies at the event, which honored:
Community Relations / Partnership Award:
- Detective E. Troyer Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Range Officer H. Gill Tacoma Police Department, Detective M. Cabacungan Gig Harbor Police Department and Reserve Deputy C. Totten Thurston County Sheriff’s Department.
- Valor Award: Chief B. Blackburn Chief of the Fife Police Department.
- Leadership Award: Lt. M. W. Steward, Directorate of Emergency Services (JBLM), Officer S. Stanley of the Tacoma Police Department, Lt. J. Osburn, United States Coast Guard and Chief B. Farrar Chief of the Lakewood Police Department.
- Special Services Award: Officer Malave, Officer Volkman, Officer Gardner, Lieutenant Thompson and Detective Nolta of the Fife Police Department.
