JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. – The 555th Engineer Brigade will dedicate the unit’s memorial to fallen Soldiers Friday, May 20 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Memorial Park on JBLM Lewis Main. The memorial will include the names of 27 Soldiers who died while deployed with units assigned to the 555th Engineer Brigade during combat operations since 2003 in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The 555th Engineer Brigade will conduct two-days-worth of Army Engineer career field events this Thursday and Friday called “Engineer Days,” and the memorial dedication will bring Engineers base-wide together to honor their fallen comrades.
Friday’s “Engineer Days’” activities begin with an Engineer Brigade run at 6:30 a.m. that will include more than 1,000 Soldiers, followed by an all-engineer muster at 8 a.m. to celebrate the history of the “Triple Nickle” Brigade and to honor military engineers throughout all branches of Service.
