Pets of the Week

May 12, 2011 By Ben Sclair

Shilo and Wynette (Winnie) are four-year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd sisters. You won’t find a sweeter pair, but they are leery of people, especially men. They cope with fear by bolting or cowering, but it only takes a minute to win their trust – and then they are all over you, begging for attention and slathering you with love! They have all the intelligence and sensitivity of both breeds, and need someone who will build their confidence with consistent affection, attention, and some training. They are very attached, so it would be ideal if they could be adopted together! These dogs have a LOT of love, and will be awesome pets for the right person! Please come meet them! #443494 and 5!

Pippin: 448129.  This sweet, affectionate, 1.5 year old  orange tabby came to the shelter more than a month ago with such bad matts that he had to be shaved.  He also had an upper respiratory infection, which has been successfully treated.  He was nurtured back to health, neutered, and now is looking for someone to appreciate his charm and love-attude!   We think he’s gorgeous, but when his hair grows back, his outer looks will match his inner beauty.  You can’t go wrong with this bundle of love!  Come visit Pippin and you won’t leave alone!

Contact The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County, (253) 383-2733 for more information. You can now see all shelter pets online.
