‘There’s No Place Like Home’ in DuPont

May 12, 2011 By Ben Sclair

By Dawn Masko, City Administrator, City of DuPont

The City of DuPont’s Parks & Recreation Auction – “There’s No Place Like Home” – is being held this Friday night, May 13th with doors opening at 6:00 PM. The event is being held at the Public Safety Building located in the Civic Center complex at 1700 Civic Drive. The Silent Auction will begin shortly after 6 PM with the Live Auction starting a little later. Police Chief Ron Goodpaster will be the auctioneer for the evening. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts are included in the ticket price of $15.00.

There are some pretty great items which have been donated so far and include something for every budget. Donated items include:

· A 2-night ocean-view stay at Lincoln City

· A weekend at Great Wolf Lodge

· $450 gift card from BladeMasters

· Restaurant gift cards

· An Xbox 360

· Numerous themed baskets – many including wine, chocolate and craft items

Ticket sales have been pretty slow so if you are planning on attending please purchase your tickets at DuPont City Hall today! You can also purchase tickets at the door.

All proceeds go directly to the DuPont Parks & Recreation department to benefit sports and recreation programs and events. Please pass the word around to help drum up support for this terrific cause!
