With the start of the 2011 – 2012 academic year, Nancy McClure assumes the role of principal at Steilacoom Historical School District #1 Cherrydale Primary School. “I am thrilled to join the Cherrydale family and bring my passion for collaboration around student achievement to this great school.”
Ms. McClure joined Steilacoom Historical School District in 2003 in the role of an elementary teacher. She taught elementary school, middle school and special education for over 20 years before completing her administrative internship at Chloe Clark. Nancy has served as Anderson Island and Harriet Taylor principal since 2007. She received her Bachelor’s and Master of Arts in Education degrees from Pacific Lutheran University.
Nancy has also served as coordinator for several district programs including ELL, curriculum and assessment. Over the last several years, Nancy has taken the lead in a variety of district programs, including Safe and Drug Free Schools, Readiness to Learn and Measures of Academic Performance.
