Yujin Lee, a 19-year-old senior and honor graduate from Clover Park High School, took first place for her drawing in Pierce County Library System’s Teen Writing & Art Contest—Our Own Expressions.
Lee’s entry was one of 987, which included poems, short stories, drawings and photographs. Volunteers reviewed the entries and photographer Don Briggs and artist Ken Murphy selected the art winners, based on composition, evidence of skill commensurate with the age of the artist, creativity and effective use of media.
Lee will receive $100 from the Pierce County Library Foundation and be honored, along with the other winners, Thursday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at Pacific Lutheran University’s Lagerquist Concert Hall.
