University Place, WA – On Thursday May 5th at 5:39 pm, firefighters were called to the Garden Court West Apartments located at 7654 40th St W. On arrival, Battalion 31 instantly saw flames coming from Unit 38. Engine 32 was the first on scene and quickly knocked down the fire utilizing water from the tank. Ladder 33 then provided engine 32 with the water they needed to completely extinguish the fire. The fire was declared under control at 6:15 pm. Firefighters did an excellent job of containing the fire damage to the unit of origin. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.  The cause of the fire was accidental in nature. The American Red Cross was called to assist one family.
