Danny Marshall, Tribal Chair and cultural anthropologist will trace his people’s fabled, troubled journey from past to present, and the struggles to preserve culture for future generations at a free public talk on Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m. The talk, “a Special Place in Time: Steilacoom Now…and Then” will be held at the Steilacoom Town Hall, 1717 Lafayette Street. The doors open at 6:30 to showcase a display of Indian crafts and artifacts. The presentation is co-sponsored by the Town of Steilacoom and Steilacoom’s Historic Preservation and Review Board to help mark May as National Preservation Month.
