Mountain View Funeral Home will present a Grief Seminar on Thursday May 5 from 10:00 AM to noon. Geoff Piper, Director of Bereavement Services, will provide practical information about grief and what actually helps people deal with loss. The Grief Seminar will take place at the Mountain View’s Celebration of Life Center 4100 Steilacoom Boulevard SW in Lakewood. The program is free, and will be repeated on Tuesday, May 17, 6:30 to 8:30 PM. No advance registration is required.
These seminars are for people dealing with a loss, as well as those who would like to help someone else who is grieving. Community care-givers, pastors, school staff and others are welcome. Following each seminar, a 12-week Grief£Recovery® Outreach program is offered as a blend of education and small-group work to help people overcome the emotional incompleteness that is so often left after the loss of a loved one or other major loss. “So many people grieve in isolation,” Piper says. “Those who become part of a group find mutual support and encouragement to endure grief and take steps toward healing.”
