Seated in a room designed to conjur up chocolate thoughts (a cozy, private dining room, with a fantastic chocolate mural on the wall) Steilacoom’s Lunch Ladies dined at the newly reopened “French Hen” on Steilacoom Blvd.
Their verdict: c’est marveilleuse! (Pardonez-moi Mme. Black if my spelling is incorrect).
Ten ladies from the Town on the Sound enjoyed many of their favorite lunch items including quiche (salmon!), Thai Chicken Bisque (just spicey enough), sandwiches–and desserts during their fourth Wednesday of the month outing.
Besides the excellent service–no mean trick to deliver their selections in a timely manner, and get the bills delivered promptly (thanks to a clever, color-coded system)–the ladies also sampled many of the Sonsie Chocolatier’s lucious chocolates afterward: ginger, banana, anise, lemon grass, raspberry Chambord, and others. (Candy is available in a variety of gift boxes)
The French Hen/chocolatier is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and on Saturdays. If you can’t make it over for lunch, consider a light dinner. 983-1313. Steilacoom Blvd. near Bowlerama.
