U.P. City Council meeting agenda, April 18

The University Place City Council will meet on Monday, April 18, 2011, 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room, 3715 Bridgeport Way West. Following is the regular council meeting agenda:

6:30 pm 1. CALL REGULAR MEETING TO ORDER – MAYOR

2. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – February 25, 2011, February 26, 2011, March 4, 2011, and March 11, 2011

4. APPROVAL OF AGENDA

6:35pm 5. PRESENTATIONS

+ Service Recognition – Peder Kittleson
+ Commissioned Officer of the Year Award – Sgt. Mike Blair
+ First Quarter Public Safety Report – Police Chief Wilder
+ Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) Award
+ Pierce County Economic Strategic Action Plan Report – Denise Dyer

7:20 pm 6. PUBLIC COMMENTS – (At this time, citizens will be given an opportunity to address the Council on any subject not scheduled for a Public Hearing or Council consideration. Comments or testimony related to a scheduled Public Hearing or Council consideration should be held until the Mayor calls for citizen comments during that time. Public comments are limited to three minutes. Please provide your name and address for the record.)

Motion: Approve or Amend the Consent Agenda as Proposed

CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL OF BILLS/PAYROLL

The Consent Agenda consists of items considered routine or have been previously studied and discussed by Council and for which staff recommendation has been prepared. A Councilmember may request that an item be removed from the Consent Agenda so that the Council may consider the item separately. Items on the Consent Agenda are voted upon as one block and approved with one vote.
A. Approval of Claims and Payroll
B. Approve application for renewal of Liquor License for Day Island Yacht Club and Stinas Cellars
C. Approve new application for Liquor License for Massimo Italian Bar & Grill 2

7:50 pm 9. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

8:05 pm 10. MAYOR’S REPORT

RECESS TO STUDY SESSION – (At this time, Council will have the opportunity to study and discuss business issues with staff prior to its consideration.
