Jack L. Blaylock, age 80, passed away on April 3, 2011. He leaves behind his beloved wife Bert, five children, thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Jennell Oliphant Cain was born on January 16th, 1947. She entered into eternal rest on Friday April 8th, 2011. She was the third of nine children born to Willie L. Oliphant and Hattie Mae Knight. She attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington where she graduated in 1965. She met and later married her husband James Edward Cain Sr. She was a devoted mother and faithful grandmother to her grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories her son, James Cain Jr. (Boonee), daughters Jawana Cain (Kat), Joni Oliphant-Fryer. Services will be at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Saturday April 16th at 11:00am. Devin Michael Mason, age 56, of Tacoma, died April 9th, 2011 doing something he had always dreamed of doing, driving his own hydroplane. He was born in Seattle on October 8, 1954 and always called the Pacific Northwest home. He was a Longshoreman since he was 18 and was proud to be a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 23, in Tacoma. Devin was a family man and loved to pheasant hunt, water and snow ski, golf, and boat with them on Puget Sound by the family cabin on Herron Island. He loved to entertain people with his humorous and detailed stories. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, his high school sweetheart, Diane; his children Brendan, Briana, and Meghan; his mother Delores Hodgkin; brothers Scott Mason, Kelly Hodgkin, and David Swanson; sisters Lori Lynn Mason and Michele Buergel; many nephews and nieces, and the world’s greatest pointing black Labrador, Chubs. A celebration of Devin’s life will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott Tacoma Downtown, 1515 Commerce Street, Tacoma, WA 98402.
