Curtis Paul Rediske passed away at his home in McKinney, Texas, on March 29, 2011 of heart disease. Curt was the third son of Jim and Bonnie Rediske, born on March 25, 1955 at Tacoma General Hospital. Schooled at Idlewild, Mann, and Lakes, he set off for Washington State University and a lifetime of defending his Cougars. Curt was involved in various aspects of the grocery industry his entire life, pursuits that took him to Seattle, Alaska, Pennsylvania, and Texas. He ultimately became a trainer for software which ran grocery warehouse operations. This included frequent travel throughout the United States and the world, including India, England, and Australia. Curt loved his job a great deal, and made friends everywhere he went. Along with softball and racquetball came golf, which was a big part of his life. It was on the golf course that a group three holes behind him could hear his booming, full-bodied laugh. One nephew described Curt’s laugh as sounding like it came from a “9′ tall person weighing 400 lbs.” It was a BIG laugh, and well known to all of his family and friends. (And golf course strangers, too.) With the laugh came an equally big generosity. Curt couldn’t wait for Christmas each year with his family, looking forward to spoiling his niece and nephews (always including items from Stewarts Meats). But perhaps Curt’s greatest generosity was reserved for his mother, Bonnie. Especially after she was widowed in 1982, Curt was always attentive to his mom, calling at least once every week from wherever he happened to be. Their games of gin rummy number in the hundreds, if not thousands. Curt is survived by his mother, Bonnie Rediske, his two older brothers, Jeff (Paula) and Greg (Sharon), and his special friend for the last many years, Barbara Bonalski. And a large and very loving family. Remembrances can be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Services will be at Christ Lutheran Church on Friday, April 29, at 2 pm.
